Shelby graduated from Canyon High School and then went on to graduate from Texas Tech University with her B.S. in Nursing. Currently, Shelby works at University Medical Center in Lubbock where she is a nurse in the Cardiac ICU. Shelby also has a three-year-old dog named Freckles.

Darling, I'll hang the moon for you.

Sixth Grade Gym Class, enough said. Coming out of the locker room as a sweaty tween, Shelby walked up to Austin and asked for his phone number. Austin, who had just gotten his first phone, turned red and obliged this short blonde girl; who he would learn her name was Shelby. After school that same day, Austin received a text asking, "Do you like me?" Not knowing what to say Austin threw his phone across the room. The next text quickly buzzed his phone, "Sorry that was my friend, Charli. She took my phone from me."

Throughout their middle and high school years, Austin and Shelby remained in contact and were friends. Class schedules never aligned and their paths came close to each other but never seemed to cross. Shelby would text Austin but he always took too long to reply. Senior year the tide started to turn and the two started to spend more time with one another, however, with college looming it seemed that they would be pulled apart again.

In the fall of 2017, Austin started classes at Texas Tech while Shelby began at Texas A&M. While seven hours and hundreds of miles between them seemed too far of a distance, it only pulled them closer together. The two would talk for hours and hours on the phone and on FaceTime, filling each other in on their classes and extracurricular activities that college brought them. Shelby would keep Austin company on the phone as he drove between New Braunfels and Lubbock. In January of 2018, after being friends for several years, the two started officially dating. By January 2019, Shelby made the move to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. Now after almost five years of dating and engagement, Austin and Shelby will be happily wedded.
